Daughters of the Alliance

An all-female World of Warcraft guild

When does Daughters of the Alliance raid?

We keep raid hours of 5pm or 6pm server time to about 9pm server. Thus far this has been the most convenient raiding time for the majority of our members (whether they are on the US east coast or living in Singapore). We tend to raid on weekends (Friday and Saturday night in the US, and occassionally Thursday or Sunday).

We tend to raid every two of three weeks. So we raid for two weeks, then we take a break for a week. Rinse and repeat!

Is Daughters of the Alliance a casual guild?

We are a casual guild in that we do not raid 5 nights a week and 7 hours a night. However we do take the time we are in raid instances seriously. We ask that our members reach certain minimum specifications in order to start raiding and that certain mods and programs (such as Omen and Ventrilo) are installed on your computer.

This does not mean that our raids aren't fun, but does mean that we try to take our raiding time seriously. We raid much less often than other guilds so in order to make progress, we can't waste time. We do try to make the most of the 3-4 hours we spend raiding.

I am interested in transferring my level-capped <Insert Class Here> so I can raid with you; who should I talk to?

We recommend that everyone who is interested in transferring first makes a level 1 character to join the guild, so you can see how you like the atmosphere. Many people have become happy to call DotA their home for their main character, but the guild is not as hardcore as some may like, and we do not allow men into our guild, so it isn't for everyone. Please make sure you like the guild before you spend $25 to move your character here!

If you are sure DotA is the guild for you, you can transfer your character over and just speak to an officer.

Do you do participate in raids with men?

Being an all-female guild does not mean we exclude men from our raids or our instance groups. We have had many men - boyfriends, brothers, and friends - come along to raids with us, and we love to have them along!

I want to join. What classes do you need?

The classes we seem to be low on is constantly fluctuating, and as many of us have a severe case of altitis, we tend to be able to make up for certain holes in our membership with alts. Our main concern is that you play a class and spec that you enjoy - all else is secondary!

If you really, truly don't care what you play, feel free to ask an officer what we are low on at the time. Please don't feel like you are letting us down if you find that it isn't fun in the future though!
